Dr. Jessica Cameron

Dr. Jessica Cameron OD FAAO is a Florida native and was raised in North Fort Myers. After finishing her degree at Nova Southeastern College of Optometry, she started her career at the Optometry Clinic at the Veterans Hospital in Gainesville, Florida and soon fell in love with the community.

Shortly after serving at the VA clinic, Dr. Cameron had the privilege of fulfilling a role as educator and clinician at University of Florida where she lead the Low Vision Ocular Disease Clinic at UF Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Cameron lectured and trained ophthalmology residents and medical students on Optics, Low Vision, and Prism. Dr. Cameron gained experience managing challenging cases at the University of Florida for seven years. In 2022 Dr. Cameron returned to her hometown of North Fort Myers to raise her family and to bring her optometric skills and experience back to her home community working with Dr. Stephen Smith at Eye Associates of Fort Myers.

Dr. Cameron always aspired to open her own optometry practice with a goal of providing a patient centered and educational clinical environment. With the help of family and support from other providers in the community Cameron’s Vision was born.

It is with great pleasure that Dr. Jessica Cameron brings her unique patient care philosophy, family centered treatment, and low vision skills and experience to SW Florida. We hope to see you soon.

Education:

Dr. Jessica Cameron completed her bachelor of science degree in North Carolina at Gardner-Webb University. She then returned to Florida for her Degree in Optometry at prestigious Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale.

Dr. Cameron followed her education experience with a residency in Primary Care Ocular Disease with the Malcom Randall Veterans hospital in Gainesville, Florida and later started as a clinician and educational instructor with the  University of Florida.

While actively lecturing to residents and students Dr. Cameron completed her Fellowship in 2016 with the American Academy of Optometry. She participated on the Fellowship Admittance Committee board for three years following gaining her fellowship. Dr. Cameron currently continues to work on publishable education material and lecture to the community.
